St Mark's Amazing Race!!!

Last Saturday, 16 enthusistic ppl took up the challenge that was the inaugural St Mark's Amazing Race!
After plenty of promos at church it was a reasonable turnout and we had 4 teams of 4 ppl!
Teams arrived at St Mark's Anglican Church, Malabar for a mandatory rest period at 13:00! There, teams had the opportunity to rest and mingle before setting out on the next leg of this race around the world!

At 14:30, teams took up positions at the starting line! After a countdown, teams set off! There was a brief bottleneck at the stairs in front of the church, courtesy of Thomas but soon teams were racing off on an adventure that would take them all over the eastern suburbs!
I spent the afternoon with Col, one of the other coordinators! Being a hot day, we decided to stake out at one of the race zones at Eastgardens to watch various teams racing by! It didn't take long to spot team members!

After enjoying a Gloria Jeans Ice Mocha there, we head over to Coogee Beach where we enjoyed a nice walk and again spotted teams running around! Or in the case of some, walking over to the Maccas there to grab refreshments in the sweltering heat!

Around 18:00, we head back to the finish line at church to prepare for the teams' arrivals. Teams did well to get back on time with only one team arriving slightly late!

The points were tallied and the winners were team 'East Meets West' by a mere 10 points over team 'JJAS'! Congrats all!

Yesterday prizes were presented at church!

If you couldn't make it this year, you missed out on an awesome day of fun and fellowship!

Stay tuned for the next amazing episode of The Amazing Race...!!!
